That’s why we walk every lot with you, and survey it ourselves, before design starts. Access, slope, drainage and utilities come first, because they decide what the foundation will be. At Echo Pines in Todd, the house sits on an 18-foot foundation that follows the slope. Here’s what to know about building on a steep lot.

We price the driveway, walls and drainage from the drawings, so they’re part of your fixed price before construction starts instead of showing up later.

How to Choose the Right Mountain Builder
Not every builder is equipped to handle the challenges of mountain construction. You want a custom home builder who understands the topography, local permitting processes, and the logistics of building on steep or remote lots.
ExCo is a design-build company. Our design team draws your home under a design agreement, we price it from those drawings as a fixed-price contract, and one project manager builds it. Most of our High Country clients live out of town while we build, so they get weekly photo and video updates. After move-in, we come back at 6, 12 and 24 months, and the home carries a 1-2-10 StrucSure warranty.
