Here at ExCo Custom Homes, we believe that building your dream home should be an exciting and stress-free experience.  That’s why we’re constantly working on streamlining our process that prioritizes clear communication, meticulous craftsmanship, and your vision every step of the way.

Our goal is to guide you from the spark of an idea to the moment you move into your finished home and beyond.  From designing a plan that reflects your unique lifestyle, to executing construction with precision, to standing by you during the warranty period, our process is built on a foundation of trust and excellence. We’ve crafted an experience that works well whether you’re local or far away.

  • Consultation: Initial meeting to discuss your vision, needs, and budget for the home.  We want to understand what you’re looking for in a partner to build your home.
  • Preliminary Design: Our design team will work directly with you to take your ideas, and create a conceptual design and floor plan.
  • Design Development: Our design team will take you through refining your home design and making selections using an outside to inside approach where we dig into all the little details.
  • Bidding Stage: Once we have enough details in place, we get the team on bidding out the project. This may include some site visits with various contractors.
  • Construction Contract: Once we have the design in place and a fixed price bid prepared, we can apply for permits and get this project contracted! We’re fully equipped to work with any bank you select for financing as well.
  • Preconstruction Planning: Finalize site preparation, scheduling, and coordination with subcontractors.
  • Construction: Our project management team guide everyone through the entire build process from sitework to final clean up.  We provide regular site inspections, ensure materials are correct and delivered on time, and maintain communication with all parties involved so that we can stay on time.
  • Client Updates: We have a project management app we share with all clients that allows us to provide weekly updates with photos to all of our clients.  These regular progress reports help keep everyone updated, especially clients who are not local to their build site. We also provide an on-site security camera that our clients can login to, and see what’s going on at the job site.
  • Quality Assurance: Built to last.  Quality is the cornerstone of everything we do.  We frequently inspect the project for quality control.  We collaborate with trusted subcontractors who share our commitment to excellence and utilize quality materials to create a home that stands that test of time.
  • Final Walkthrough: We do a final punch walkthrough with every client to make sure the home is delivered to their satisfaction.  Before that, we’ve already done our own, and had as many punchlist items completed as we could find.  This gives one last chance to find any details that need addressing.
  • Warranty Information: At the end of the project, we will provide you a list of warranty information, and who to contact for different problems.  You can always contact us, and we’ll get ahold of the right person as well.  Different systems have different warranties, and many of them extend beyond our standard 2 year builders warranty.
  • Warranty Follow-up Visits: During our 2 year standard warranty, we visit the home at 6 months, 12 months, and 24 months, to make sure it’s holding up the way that we expect it to.  That gives us an opportunity to catch any issues before you may even notice, and have it fixed before the issue grows worse.
  • Post-Construction Support: We’re here for you after the build.  If you need maintenance information, have any problems, or want to explore adding on that outdoor kitchen, reach out to us anytime.  We want to maintain a relationship with everyone that builds a home with us.  That’s fundamental to our business.
